I built Yokoso after moving to Japan because I wanted a better way to practice the Japanese I was seeing in daily life. It focuses on useful contexts such as signs, prices, counters, errands, vocabulary, grammar, and reading.

The web app includes adaptive, JLPT-oriented study through N3 and works offline. The iPhone app follows the same practical approach and can optionally import WaniKani progress. Yokoso is free, with no ads, streaks, or locked lessons. Optional supporter contributions unlock nothing.

Yokoso is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by WaniKani. Bunpro import is currently unavailable because Bunpro removed or moved its public API.
