Free scam checks with warning signs and practical guidance

- supporters
Scam Checker helps people review suspicious messages, emails and links before deciding what to do next. Paste content, add a screenshot or upload a supported document, then submit a manual check. The essential checker is free and does not require an account.
Results explain warning signs such as pressure tactics, impersonation and suspicious link patterns. They also show available check coverage, so you can see which sources responded and where information is missing. A low-signal result does not prove that something is safe, and a flagged result is not proof of fraud. Sensitive requests should still be verified through independently found official contact details.
Text analysis and file extraction happen in your browser. Applicable extracted identifiers may be sent for community and external reputation checks. Saved check history is optional and uses sanitised summaries.
Alongside the checker, Scam Checker provides practical scam guides, recovery checklists, official reporting links and a printable practice worksheet. These help people learn what to look for and plan their next steps if they have already clicked, shared information or paid.
Optional paid plans add watchlists, relevant incident alerts, personalised briefs and saved history. Manual checks and essential next steps remain free.
