Why did we build Prelude?

Before building Prelude, we worked at Zenly, a social app acquired by Snap Inc. We saw firsthand how costly SMS verification was—it was one of Zenly’s largest expense, with up to 30% lost to fraud, a problem often overlooked by traditional providers.

We realized there wasn’t a comprehensive solution on the market that could both control and minimize user verification costs. After three years of tackling this issue at Zenly, studying fraud patterns, and navigating mobile network complexities, we decided to build Prelude. Our goal?
