Screenshot Scout is a screenshot API built for developers who need clean, production-ready captures of web pages. With a single HTTP call, it generates screenshots from any URL while removing common on-page clutter like cookie banners, chat widgets, ads, and other overlays.
You can capture exactly what you need by emulating real devices, selecting a preset screen size, or defining a custom viewport. For full-page results, Screenshot Scout scrolls through the page and triggers lazy-loaded assets so the image reflects what a real visitor would see. It can also capture a specific element using a CSS selector, or focus on a particular page area when you only need part of the layout.
Before a capture runs, you can fine-tune how the page is rendered. Options include hiding elements that match selectors, clicking elements to reach a desired state, choosing the request location to mirror regional experiences, injecting custom CSS or JavaScript, and toggling dark mode.
Screenshot Scout is designed to replace DIY browser automation by reducing edge cases and eliminating the need to operate CPU-intensive headless browser infrastructure. The result is a simpler workflow that helps teams spend less time maintaining screenshot pipelines and more time building their core product.
