Biotadex turns every walk into a hunt. Point your camera at a plant, bird, bug or mushroom and get an ID in seconds, with an honest confidence score. Every species you find becomes a new entry in your own field guide, graded from Common to Very Rare.

Hold your phone up for five seconds and Listen tells you which birds and frogs are calling nearby. Hold the shutter to record a video find with sound. Crates at landmarks on the map hold numbered collectible stickers with fixed print runs that are never reprinted, and you can trade spares with friends. Players can claim real parks as sanctuaries by documenting their species.

The golden rule is look, don't touch: an ID in an app is never a reason to eat, handle or disturb anything.

Biotadex is free, with 10 scans a week (15 a week in your first week). Scan packs and Biotadex Pro ($39.99 a year, unlimited scans) are optional. It's built by one person, a dad in Loveland, Colorado, who wanted an app that sends families outside.
