OpenTypeless is an open-source desktop dictation and AI writing app for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Use a global shortcut to record speech and insert either the raw transcript or a polished result into email, chat, documents, code editors, and other desktop apps. OpenTypeless can adapt tone and formatting to the current app, rewrite or translate selected text from a spoken instruction, and answer one-shot voice questions.

Users can choose optional managed cloud access or bring their own speech-to-text and language-model providers. Whisper-compatible STT endpoints, OpenAI-compatible LLM endpoints, and compatible local or self-hosted services are supported. The app also includes local history, a custom dictionary, correction rules, and configurable shortcuts.
