FixGuard Reviews — Discover what people think of this product.

FixGuard is a free browser extension for desktop Chrome and Edge that blocks ads and trackers, with optional cookie-banner handling and controls for notification and sign-in prompts. No account or subscription is required.

Its experimental video-ad handling targets YouTube and Dailymotion. Recent improvements focus on more reliable skip controls, advancing confirmed ads, handling consecutive ads, and restoring sound and player controls after ads. Website changes and different browser setups can affect results.

HOW TO TEST VIDEO AD SKIPPING

1. Install FixGuard using the Chrome or Edge store link at https://fixguard.org/
2. Open FixGuard’s settings.
3. Enable “Block video pre-roll ads.”
4. Reload the YouTube or Dailymotion page.

Video-ad blocking is OFF by default. It remains opt-in while I collect feedback because I don’t want to disrupt playback for existing users. This feature works in supported desktop browsers, not the YouTube or Dailymotion mobile apps.

I’m looking for honest feedback: Are ads skipped? Does sound return correctly? Do the player controls still work? Please report any stalls, black screens, or unexpected jumps in the main video, along with your browser and extension versions, operating system, other enabled blockers, and a public video URL where possible.

FixGuard processes page content locally and does not upload page content, form data, or browsing history. It downloads blocking-rule updates. You can pause protection per site and hide unwanted elements with the element picker.
