It's too hot. Monitor real-time heat strain before performance drops.

Heat illness kills young athletes every year. Yet it's 100% preventable. The problem? You can't prevent what you can't see.
Current heat safety protocols rely on weather apps and waiting for symptoms. Check the temperature. Watch for signs. React when athletes are already struggling. We're guessing about heat—and athletes are paying the price.
Every body responds to heat differently. Two athletes standing next to each other in identical conditions can have completely different heat responses. One is fine. The other is experiencing dangerous heat strain. Weather apps can't tell you the difference. Symptoms appear too late and look like everything else—fatigue, dizziness, nausea could be heat exhaustion, dehydration, or low blood sugar.
By the time you identify heat exhaustion, it's already advancing. If we're managing an emergency, we're too late.
HeatSense makes individual heat response visible in real time through non-invasive wearable technology. Our sensor measures core body temperature, skin temperature, and heart rate as heat strain rises. The data streams via Bluetooth to our app, showing athletes, parents, and coaches what's happening inside the body moment by moment. See your core temperature. See heat strain rising. Get alerts at scientifically proven thresholds. Make informed decisions about activity before it becomes a problem. No guessing. Just visibility.
We use Swiss-made heat-flux sensor technology powered by CORE—trusted by 60% of UCI WorldTour cycling teams and elite endurance athletes. We've made it accessible for youth sports, adult athletes, seniors, outdoor workers, and anyone who needs to be active outside in the heat.
Youth athletes are particularly vulnerable. They produce more heat per kilogram of body weight than adults, sweat less efficiently, and take longer to acclimatize. Nine thousand high school athletes are treated for heat illness annually. Heat illness is the third leading cause of death in young athletes. Individual monitoring is critical.
Parents get peace of mind—real-time visibility into their athlete's heat response instead of hoping weather apps and coaches have it covered. Coaches get roster-wide visibility through our Team Dashboard (in development), making confident decisions about 50-100 athletes simultaneously based on individual data rather than treating everyone the same. We're creating a new category: Heat Readiness. Individual, proactive, data-driven heat management replacing weather-based guesswork. As temperatures rise and athletes train harder, the old playbook doesn't work anymore.
Founded by Melissa Fortenberry—25-year consumer tech executive (Expedia, VRBO, Philips Electronics) and mother of three youth athletes training in Texas heat—HeatSense launched August 2025 to change how people manage heat.
Heat illness is preventable. Heat strain is measurable. Individual response is knowable. HeatSense makes it visible.
